Teach Someone to do Something

One of the challenges that elementary students have is knowing how to use Google to search for information when doing research. Typing the wrong words or not enough words in the Google search can lead to the wrong type of information or inappropriate results. On our campus, there are a few grade levels that do research projects about animals. In addition to the print resources and databases that the students have access to, students are also encouraged to find additional information. I chose to use a common animal topic, tigers, for my video to show how simply asking Google to search for "tigers" is not enough and can lead to unwanted information.

I used Screencastify to record the video since I was familiar with using it from the COVID online teaching days.

  1. This is so important because this happens to the students all the time. They need to learn how to narrow their searches and find what it is they are looking for! Great job!
